A look at major painting exhibitions: Van Gogh at Auvers-sur-Oise, the final months

The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and the Etablissement Public des Musées d'Orsay et de l'Orangerie in Paris are organizing an exhibition entitled "Van Gogh à Auvers, les derniers mois" (Van Gogh in Auvers, the last months), which will be presented at the Van Gogh Museum, to mark its 50th anniversary, and at the Musée d'Orsay from September 26, 2023 to January 28, 2024. This will be the first major exhibition devoted to the works produced by the artist during the last two months of his life, spent at Auvers-sur-Oise, near Paris. The exhibition is the culmination of years of research into this crucial phase of the artist's life, and will enable the public to appreciate it in its true dimension.
About Emmanuel Coquery
Emmanuel Coquery holds a doctorate in art history and is a graduate of the HEC business school. On graduating from the École du Patrimoine (1995), he was appointed to the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nantes, then assigned to the Objets d'art department of the Musée du Louvre, in charge of tapestries, and boarded at the Villa Médicis. He was then appointed director of the Troyes museums and the Musée d'Art Moderne. In 2008, he joined Agence France Muséums, responsible for the prefiguration of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, as Deputy Scientific Director. In 2017, he became Scientific Director of RMN-Grand Palais, and joined the Musée d'Orsay in 2019, as Deputy Director of Collections and Conservation. He has designed and developed exhibitions at the crossroads of painting, décor, fashion and color. He is curator of the exhibition "Van Gogh à Auvers-sur-Oise, les derniers mois", to be held at the Musée d'Orsay this autumn.
