Caubère / Daudet - Triptych
Alone on stage
In 2020, Philippe Caubère creates two shows La Chèvre and La Mule from the famous Lettres de mon Moulin, inviting on stage, in a "jubilatory carnal incarnation", all the emblematic characters of Alphonse Daudet's masterpiece, Master Cornille, Monsieur Seguin, his goat, the wolf, the Reverend Father Gaucher, the priest of Cucugnan, Saint Pierre, the devil and so many others. These first two shows met with great public and critical success.
Continuing his rediscovery of these texts, Philippe Caubère created in 2022 a third and final part, Les Étoiles, composed of lesser known letters, but just as strong and moving. More romantic - love is the main subject - also more fantastic and romantic than the two previous ones, this episode takes us out of the famous original mill for a fabulous journey, from the Gulf of Ajaccio and the Strait of Bonifacio to the wild shores of the Lavezzi islands, from “the wonderful little town of Arles, one of the most picturesque in France” and from the Mas-de-Giraud pontoon to the foothills of the Luberon, passing through the Camargue, Eyguières and even… Paris!
The grandiose Corsican polyphonies, the harsh blues of Johnny Cash, that of Howlin'Wolf, and the guitar of Gérard Cousin delicately shelling the harmonies of Philip Glass accompany us. Like the song of the wind in the pines...
These three shows of 1h30 each, can be discovered in series or independently.
